The recognition was featured in Forbes, which spotlighted the competition’s top blanco tequila winners as a signal of where the category is heading: more agave character, more texture, and more terroir.
Judges from across Latin America and the United States evaluated several hundred entries spanning Tequila, Mezcal, and other agave spirits. Borracho’s Blanco Artesanal (40% ABV) impressed at every stage — opening with fresh grassy and citrus notes layered with hints of cooked agave on the nose, unfolding into a savory, meaty palate with accents of blood orange, green pepper, herbal tones, and light tobacco, and finishing with a silky texture and balanced, medium-length finish.
This recognition adds to a growing list of accolades for the brand. The Blanco previously earned Gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition, further reinforcing Borracho’s position among top artesanal producers in the category.
Separately, Borracho’s Espresso Cristalino — a first-of-its-kind expression — continues to build its own momentum. It opens with inviting aromas of vanilla, agave, and roasted espresso, unfolding into layered notes of chocolate, espresso, vanilla, and agave nectar, and finishing with a creamy, lingering profile where the agave remains clear and composed. The expression earned Double Gold at the Latin American World Spirits Competition, in addition to a Silver Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
